International Economics (IEC), through ARISE Plus-Indonesia programme, is providing capacity building and technical advice to Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade to strengthen capacity of MoT’s officers in two areas that are key to the ongoing Indonesia-EU CEPA negotiations, this is Trade in Services and Non-Tariff Measures.

Specialised training in the analysis of trade in services will include training trade officials in conducting quality desk research, to access and analyse information and data on international trade in services. Intervention on Non-Tariff Measures will involve training to develop impact analysis on NTMs and set up an institutional framework. Furthermore, IEC will draft sector specific studies with the active involvement of MoT officers that will help identify the constraints that make them uncompetitive and hamper their ability to effectively contribute to export performance.
