International Economics (IEC), as part of the Africa RISE team, is contributing to the development of a Strategy for Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology sectors in Mauritius. This project will help in the establishment and focused strategic positioning for Mauritius as a pharmaceutical and biotechnology hub. The objective is to advise on building economies of scale for local production of pharmaceutical products including vaccines and other drugs and the appropriate product mix. This includes the regional market for supply of pharmaceutical products including vaccines and other drugs using preferential access through the Continental Free Trade Area and other trade blocks to which Mauritius is a member state.
