International Economics (IEC) is providing technical assistance to the MRIC to investigate the potential of developing the 3D filament printing industry in Mauritius. The aim of the project is to analyze the 3D printing filament chemical components and identify the type of plastic wastes that can be recycled, develop a prototype that can convert plastic waste to generate 3D printing filament. Our consortium partners will identify the type of filament grades that can be produced through supply chain analysis, and International Economics will help to evaluate the potential of developing the 3D printing industry in Mauritius and the region through market study, export potential analysis, policies, and regulations review, and cost-benefit analysis.
