COVID-19 continues to spread across the world, with more than 200 countries and territories infected as of mid-August 2020. This pandemic has brought numerous countries to a standstill, which consequently, has an impact on trade and the economy. The effects have been especially felt by low-income countries, with weak health systems, who have stopped all but essential activities.

Our unique and live series of dashboards and infographics described below, aim to provide an accurate, timely and informative view of country exposures, reactions or performance with COVID-19. We have focused much of our analysis on Africa and Asia, but also present global indicators.

A first dashboard provides all the measures taken by the different African Governments to handle the COVID-19 crisis in the form of timelines. This will eventually help policymaker and the business community to analyse the outcome of the decisions taken.

An infographic informs on the number of cases of COVID-19 in Africa. The map of Africa shows the country-wise number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Africa, whereas the infographic shows the progression over the previous seven days in the number of Active cases, Recovered cases and Deaths. The information provides an overall view on the extent of the spread of the virus in Africa, and provide the week’s view on progress.

Our infographic CLOUD provides a sentiment analysis of the tweets from the past month, around the subjects related to COVID-19 and trade in Africa. It provides an overview of what is being shared on social media, specifically Twitter, and the key messages and sentiments expressed during this COVID-19 crisis.

Another infographic illustrates the exposure of Africa’s top export markets to the COVID-19 pandemic. The idea behind it is to provide a progressive Africa centric overview of the impact of the global pandemic, mainly to countries and businesses, to help them prepare for the short-term and long-term effects of the virus.

We also share our findings and recommendations through studies, reports and presentations providing business insights to better estimate the risks and impacts arising from supply chain disruptions and changes in demand across global markets.
