The CEO of International Economics Consulting, Paul Baker, was in Yangon, Myanmar, together with a team from the International Trade Centre (ITC), conducting workshops on Value Chain Analysis and defining sectoral strategies for Myanmar’s agro-processing, rubber, wood, tourism, trade finance, logistics, trade facilitation, trade information and quality infrastructure sectors. During this mission, Paul Baker, was interviewed by the leading English language local newspaper Myanmar Times about the export potential of Myanmar’s rubber sector. In the article, he highlighted the great potential of this sector but warned that diversification is needed. “We’re looking at how we can upgrade and add value to the sector.
